Cardinal Bangai – Pterapogon kauderni

This elegant marine species has only recently been discovered.

Originally from Banggai, Indonesian Islands, it has become popular among aquarium fish, ideally suited for a slightly more experienced aquarist.

Food:

Banggai cardinals thrive best when fed live food such as brine shrimp and Aviú dehydrated shrimp.

Temperament

Banggai cardinals are peaceful fish, but they will choose their own type occasionally and are very reclusive when more active fish are present.

They are mostly nocturnal, and so will appreciate low light conditions.

reproduction

It is possible to raise Banggai in captivity, it is the male who incubates the eggs, then holds the litter in his mouth for up to 4-5 weeks.
